The Mercedes SLS AMG will be used as Formula One’s safety car this season. The car will be used at all 19 grand prix and will be driven by Germany’s Bernd Maylander.

The gullwing model is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine, which helps the SLS get from 0-100kph in 3.8sec and reaches a top speed of 320kph. It produces 563bhp and 66.5kgm of torque.

F1’s official medical car will again be a Mercedes C63 AMG estate.
