    Over 60 competitors in the 20th edition of all-women's car rally
        
    Organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club, the JK Tyre Duchess Women's Car Rally was held in and around Chennai city on 4th August.

    The event was run as a TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) Rally, with a distance of about 91km being covered in a time period of approximately three-and-a-half hours.

    The driver-navigator combination of Pramila Jacob and Lita Srinivasan emerged triumphant in the experts category with a tally of 20 bonus points. Finishing in second place was the combination of Raji Divakar and Minnie Amirapu and with 15 penalty points. Rekha Reddy and Preeti Damani finished third with 23 penalty points. The pair of Kavitha Srinath and Padmaja Rao took the honors in the Regular category with a total of 12+ bonus points followed by the team of Vanitha Mahesh and Ashley Thomas with 12 bonus points. Coming in 3rd place was the team of Kiran Uttam and Jayanthi Murugesh who notched up 9 bonus points.

    The driver navigator team of K Prema and S Aishwarya were the winners in the Novice category with a score of 5 bonus points. Coming in second was the team of Aruna R Krishnan and Samyuktha Baliga with 1 penalty point while Nirmala and Vasanthi had to settle for third place with 10 penalty points.
