Suresh Rana leads Raid de Himalaya on day 1

This year, the raid was flagged off from Shimla with leg one culminating in Manali.

Manali man Suresh Rana is leading at the end of day one of the 2015 Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya, which saw competitors cover a total distance of over 300 kilometers.

This year, the raid was flagged off from Shimla with leg one culminating in Manali. The narrow roads dotted with green landscapes and hilly terrain saw the competitors on the ragged edge from the get go.

Rana driving his Grand Vitara leads the pack in the Xtreme (4x4) category with a time of 1hr 45min, 48sec followed closely by Raj Singh Rathore who crossed the finish after 1hr, 47min, 12 sec.

 In the adventure category, Jagmeet Gill lead the way with a penalty time of 1 minute 45 seconds, followed by Rajesh Chalana. 

On two wheels, Arvind KP was leading at the end of leg one with an time of 1hr 39min, followed by Natraj R at 1hr, 40min and Ashish Saurabh a further minute behind.

The rally now moves to Dalhousie to cover another 400 km in the second leg of Raid-de-Himalaya.

2.       Rajesh Chalana & Yogesh Gupta – 1 minutes 46 seconds
3.       Subir Roy & Nirav Mehta –1 minute 51 seconds
