Sarath Kumar wins in National Motorcycle Championship

Sarath started on pole position and led from Deepak R and Sumit Lucas. Lal Rindika also joined the action and soon all 4 riders were swapping places.

The Final Round of the 2014 MMSC- FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship got off to a great start with Sarath Kumar winning a 4-way tussle in the Honda CBR 250 Open race. Sarath was unstoppable in qualifying yesterday when he was 1 second faster than his rivals but the race proved to be a completely different ball game. 

Sarath started on pole position and led from Deepak R and Sumit Lucas Toppo. Lal Rindika also joined the action and soon all 4 riders were swapping places throughout the race. In the end Sarath used his experience to cross the finish line in first place, 0.082secs ahead of Deepak. Rindika finished in 3rd place just ahead of Sumit Lucas Toppo with the top 4 being covered by 0.570secs.

Deepak made up for the disappointment of losing out in the Honda CBR 250 race and comfortably won in the Group C 165CC category. Championship leader K Jagan settled for 2nd position with Ramesh Kumar finishing in a distant 3rd position.

The Yamaha MMSC One Make Championship returned to the MMSC-INMRC with Dinesh Kumar winning in the Yamaha R15 Open race. Vivek Pillai finished in 2nd place with S Padmanabhan taking the final step on the podium. In the Yamaha One Make Novice race, Mithun Kumar comfortably won ahead of Naresh Babu and Vivian Gladwin David.

Mathana Kumar, who was already crowned Champion in the TVS One Make Open in the TVS MMSC One Make Championship continued his run with another dominant win. KY Ahamed finished in 2nd place with Lalruatsanga finishing in a distant 3rd place. In the TVS Apache Novice category S Kannan beat Siva S and Prabhu V in one of the tightest races of the day with the top 3 riders being covered by 0.174secs.

In the Honda - MMSC One Make Championship newcomer Ami Van Poederooijen took a surprise win in the Honda CBR 150 Novice category. Vivian Gladwin David came in 2nd with Shoban Bapu getting his first podium of the year to finish in 3rd place.

In the Group D 165CC race, Mithun Kumar held off a charging Prabhu V to take his second win of the day. Vivian David took his third podium of the day when he finished on the final step of the podium.

The Group C 130CC race provided all the action with the top 4 riders crossing the finish line within 0.362secs of each other. Harikrishnan edge ahead on the final lap to beat Mithun Kumar by 0.018secs as both riders were toe-to-toe on the main straight. E Saravanan finished in 3rd place, 0.149secs behind.
