Honda City facelift
The Honda City is the longest-running nameplate in India, which was first launched in 1998. The mid-size sedan is currently in its fifth-generation facelift avatar, which was launched in March 2023. The current-generation model will get a second facelift in the second half of 2026, ahead of the next-generation update in 2028.
The Honda City facelift will continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated iVTEC petrol engine, which in its current version pushes 121hp and 145Nm. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic option as the current-spec model. The Honda City facelift 2026 will also continue with a hybrid ‘eHEV’ version, which has a total system output of 126hp.
The Honda City facelift mileage is likely to be similar to the current-spec City, the fuel efficiency of which ranges between 17.77-18.40 kpl. The City hybrid’s mileage is 27.26kpl.
The Honda City facelift car rivals will be the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.
Honda City facelift price in India is expected to be slightly more than the current-spec sedan’s cost, which ranges from Rs 11.95 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
