ZF, the automotive parts manufacturer, has revealed its in-house developed Urban Vehicle concept. The electric car gets a variety of autonomous technology and a front axle capable of steering angles of 75 degrees allowing the car to turn at very tight angles.

In terms of techonology, the electric car is equipped with a ‘Smart Parking Assist’ system that allows the car parallel or perpendicular park itself into any open space. The car comes equipped with an array of infrared and ultra-sound sensors that help it identify possible parking spots before automatically parking itself.

ZF has also provided the car with a ‘PreVision Cloud Assist’ system that uploads the car’s route and driving data to a cloud server. The company says that if the car is made to navigate the same route again it will automatically optimize speeds for any turns in the route without any inputs from the driver. The company claims that this not only makes the car safer but also increases the electric car’s range.

ZF hasn’t revealed any specifications for the Urban Vehicle concept save the fact that it is powered by two 53.6bhp electric motors powering the rear wheels.
