Volkswagen India to get new MD

Volkswagen India has announced a change in top level management with current president and managing director Mahesh Kodumudi set to move to Volkswagen Group of America with effect from June 1, 2015. Dr Andreas Lauermann will be appointed as president and MD of VW India with effect from July 1, 2015.

Mahesh Kodumudi joined VW in 2008 and was appointed executive director of corporate purchase, VW India. He became the MD of VW India in 2013 before taking up responsibility as the chief representative of the VW Group India.

His successor, Dr Andreas Lauermann has been with the VW Group since 1997 and has held lead positions in several of the group's concerns across the globe. VW India, in an official statement said that despite Mahesh Kodumudi moving to the VW Group of America, he will continue to act in an advisory role to VW India in the months to follow.
