We had reported earlier that Hyundai is readying a new Verna CX trim to take on the newly launched Honda City. Now, our sources have confirmed that the Hyundai Verna CX is on sale and available in two engine options. Dealers are promising deliveries of the new Verna CX within one month.

The new Hyundai Verna CX comes with features such as a driver airbag, ABS, rear disc brakes, steering mounted audio controls, climate control, a reversing camera screen integrated with the rear view mirror, parking sensors and alloy wheels.

The new Hyundai Verna CX is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh for the 1.4-litre petrol variant, while the 1.4-litre diesel CX costs Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane).

Additionally, Hyundai has re-jigged the entire Verna sedan line-up.

The erstwhile 1.4 EX base variant and the 1.6 EX with automatic transmission have been discontinued.  The Verna 1.6 EX with manual gearbox is still on sale with petrol and diesel engine options. This variant gets all the features available on the 1.4 CX variant sans powered mirrors and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Also, the Hyundai Verna 1.6 petrol now comes with an automatic gearbox in the SX trim, earlier available only on the now discontinued 1.6 SX (O) automatic variant.

Hyundai has also added side and curtain airbags as well as speed-sensing door locks to the top-end Verna 1.6 SX (O) variant. These features were available in the pre-facelift Verna but were not on offer until now on the updated car.
