Toyota recalls 1.9 million Prius hybrids globally,167 in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a recall for the Prius hybrid in India as part of a global move. 
The recall has been announced owing to a software error in the hybrid system that makes the car unable to enter a fail-safe mode.
 
The carmaker announced that although it has received no complaints about the car in India yet, the recall is a voluntary exercise. The repairs will be carried out free of charge and are expected to take around an hour and a half for completion. 
 
A total of 167 units of the Prius will be covered by the recall in India.
