Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a recall for the Prius hybrid in India as part of a global move.
The recall has been announced owing to a software error in the hybrid system that makes the car unable to enter a fail-safe mode.

The carmaker announced that although it has received no complaints about the car in India yet, the recall is a voluntary exercise. The repairs will be carried out free of charge and are expected to take around an hour and a half for completion.

A total of 167 units of the Prius will be covered by the recall in India.
