Tata to hike car prices by April 1

Tata Motors is planning to hike prices of its passenger vehicles, owing to steep rise in input cost. All Tata vehicles are poised to go dearer in the range of Rs 7,000 – 36,000.

In the passenger car segment, depending upon the model, Indica prices will go up by Rs 7000 to 9000, Indica Vista and Indigo CS will be dearer by Rs 8000 to 11,000 and the Manza saloon will cost Rs 10,000 to 15,000 more.

In the UV segment, the Sumo prices will go up by Rs 13,000 – 15,000, and the Grande Mark II will cost Rs 16,000 – 19,000 more. The Safari will be dearer by Rs 18,000 –29,000, while the prices of the Aria crossover are set to go up by Rs 30,000 to 36,000.

Only available in the BS III cities, the Venture commercial vehicle too will see a price hike in the range of Rs 9000 – 12,000.

Tata Motors have spared the Nano from this latest price hike that will come into effect from April 1, 2011.
