Update: Tata Tiago JTP, Tigor JTP prices revealed

Tata Motors will launch the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP later today. The company showcased the two performance-oriented models first at the Auto Expo 2018. The Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP have been co-developed by Tata motors and JTSV, in Coimbatore.

Bookings for both the cars have unofficially commenced at select dealers. However, we can confirm that Tata Motors won't be selling the JTP models across all its dealerships; it has handpicked 30 dealerships in 15 Indian cities that will market the performance-oriented cars.

The Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol good for 114hp and 150Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and Tata claims the Tiago JTP is capable of doing the 0-100kph sprint in just 9.95sec, while the Tigor JTP takes 10.38sec. The duo also gets multi-drive modes – Sport for performance, and City for efficiency.

Both cars get a revised exterior with a new front bumper with an enlarged grille, chrome-ringed projector headlights, 15-inch alloys with wider 185-section tyres, side skirts, rear spoiler, a contrasting black roof and outside mirrors and ‘JTP’ badging on the grille, fender vents and at the back.

On the inside, an all-black interior treatment with contrasting red stitching and trim bits are few the key differentiators that set the JTP cars apart from the standard models. Additionally, red surrounds for the AC vents, the leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as the gearshift gaiter, features contrast red stitching on the JTP cars. Also standard are dual airbags and ABS with corner stability control.

Tata Motors is currently aiming to make the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP accessible to its prospective customers and could add more dealerships to handle JTP cars in the future. Both the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP follow the same service cycle as standard models and can be serviced at any Tata passenger vehicle service centre throughout the country.
