The sound of each supercar howling drew crowds throughout the day.

Pete’s, the tuning firm based out of Kochi, loves fast cars, and has gone ahead and made quite a few special machines too. Once every year, Pete's brings together the finest cars that have entered its fold and lets them whip up a storm.

This year was no different. Pete’s Super Sunday kicked off in the wee hours of the morning. The usual silence was ripped by a normally mute BMW M5 made loud by an IPE exhaust. There was a Subaru Impreza STI with a Bilstein suspension, free-flow exhaust and intake, amongst the lip-smacking list of cars that were in line for the 108km drive.

A father-daughter duo even drove over 200km to get to Kochi in their Audi R8 for the event. A Porsche 911 turbo (chipped to make 520bhp), Audi RS5s, a varied range of vintage Porsche 911s, a Cayman, a Ferrari F430 and a Lamborghini Gallardo were some of the main attractions.

The sound of each supercar howling drew crowds throughout the day. The Traxxas RC cars, nitro buggies capable of doing 160kph in five seconds,  whined as they whizzed around. The Rage Cyclone buggy that we drove in our January issue also made its presence felt. It's powered by a Maruti Suzuki three-cylinder K10, it's two-wheel drive, it's front suspension travels 12.5 inches and the rear 13 inches, so the sight of it catching some serious air created an almost carnival-like atmosphere. A fleet of Pete’s tuned cars also lay strewn around the lawns for people to ogle at.

Even a drizzle wasn’t enough to drive the crowds away. And, it stayed that way until the last few shrieks from every last supercar faded away in the distance. Pete’s better gear up for more crowds in 2015.
