Mahindra is readying the new Scorpio automatic for a launch in the coming weeks. The Scorpio AT will get the same six-speed unit from DSI of Australia (now owned by Geely) which according to our sources, has been tweaked to improve its shift quality. It will be mated to the same 2179cc mHawk engine producing 118bhp and 28.55kgm of torque.

The AT option will be available only in the top-spec S10 2WD and S10 4WD variant. Although official prices haven’t been revealed, the S10 2WD AT is reportedly priced at Rs. 13,13,701 and the price of the 4WD AT is Rs. 14,32,976 (prices ex-showroom Delhi). Dealerships are also said to have opened bookings of the Scorpio AT for Rs 1 lakh. There is no official word on it yet, but the Scorpio AT is likely to be made-to-order with a waiting period of one month for delivery.
