Rolls-Royce is considering proposals for an SUV but still hasn’t greenlit the project. “We’re looking seriously into it,” said the BMW Group board member for Rolls-Royce, Peter Schwarzenbauer.

“Fifty percent of cars sold around the world are now SUVs,” Schwarzenbauer added. “But there’s no decision yet. If we’re not totally convinced, we’re not going to do it. It’s got to look like a Rolls-Royce.” He said that design proposals were getting better but they were still to get perfect.

Originally, the company was expected to launch its long-awaited SUV model in 2017, one year later than the already-confirmed Bentley SUV.

Both the Bentley SUV and the Rolls-Royce, when ready, will be targeted at rich entrepreneurs across the globe.
