Rolls-Royce sales more than doubled in the first 10 months of 2010 to over 2000 units following the launch of the Ghost, says boss Torsten Muller-Otovos.
The Ghost now accounts for around three-quarters of Rolls’ sales. Eighty per cent of its buyers are new to the marque and, on average; they are 10 years younger than Phantom buyers.
Sales have grown by 360 per cent in the US and 250 per cent in Europe. Asia-Pacific sales have grown eight-fold, while UK sales are up 50 per cent.
Globally, the Rolls-Royce range consists of four models – Phantom, Phantom Drophead Coupé, Phantom Coupé and Ghost – but more than 100 customers have bought an example of all four cars.
The firm last week confirmed plans to Autocar to expand the Ghost range by adding three new variants over the next three years: long-wheelbase, Drophead coupe and coupe versions.
