Renault will be buy components from India vendors for its two-seater electric vehicle, the Twizy, that is slated for an European launch by the end of 2011. Some parts for the Twizy two-seater electric vehicle will be coming from India though the Twizy will not be sold in India due to lack of infrastructure for the electric vehicle, Marc Nassif, managing director of Renault India told Autocar India’s sister magazine, Autocar Professional.

Renault India commenced shipping components from its logistics warehouse at Pune three years ago for its global operations in Brazil, South Africa and Europe. We have gathered parts worth 35 million Euros last year and the target for 2011 is 70 million Euros and 100 million Euros for 2012, adds Nassif. Renault recently launched the Fluence saloon in India, its first independent launched product.
