Volkswagen is due to increase prices of the Polo hatchback from August 1. The price rise will coincide with the introduction of Polos for the new model year. The price hike will be applicable on all versions of the Polo (Cross Polo included) except for the base Trendline variants offered on the 1.2 petrol and 1.5 diesel-powered cars. For the record, these base versions contribute only 10 percent to total Polo sales. While details aren’t out on the exact quantum of the price hike, we understand it could be up to 2 percent over existing prices.

For reference, current VW Polo prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) are listed below –

Petrol:
1.2 Trendline – Rs 5.33 lakh
1.2 Comfortline – Rs 5.95 lakh
1.2 Highline – Rs 6.47 lakh
GT TSI – Rs 8.48 lakh

Diesel:
1.5 Trendline – Rs 6.68 lakh
1.5 Comfortline – Rs 7.31 lakh
1.5 Highline – Rs 7.82 lakh
GT TDI – Rs 8.48 lakh

Cross Polo:
1.2 petrol – Rs 7.08 lakh
1.5 diesel – Rs 8.38 lakh
