Nissan has joined the long list of manufacturers that have announced a price hike across its India line-up, effective from January 1, 2015. According to the announcement, Nissan will hike prices across its entire India range and the Datsun range of vehicles. The carmaker has attributed the price hike to rising input costs.

The prices of Nissan vehicles will be hiked by up to 2.5 percent ie up to Rs 18,000, and Datsun vehicles will be dearer by up to three percent ie up to Rs 11,000.

Nissan currently sells the Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia and the Terrano in India, while Datsun offers the Go.

Nissan Motor India's managing director, Arun Malhotra said, “We have increased prices due to rising input costs, although we are confident Nissan and Datsun vehicles will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers. Despite recent high inflation, the outlook for the Indian economy is positive.”
