Mini is expected to replace its current Countryman sometime late next year. The new model, codenamed F60, will be the second all-new Mini following the upcoming all-new Mini Cabriolet due in early 2016.

The F60 will be based on the UKL platform, making it more spacious than the current model and will sport styling cues inspired by the four-time Dakar rally winning Mini X-Raid. The car is expected to grow in length by about 150mm and also be wider by around 10mm over the current car; a bigger boot is also likely. It will also get the four-wheel-drive system from the BMW 2-series Active Tourer along with a hybrid powertrain and a dedicated off-roading version.

The Countryman replacement will be a part of Mini’s future five-model portfolio alongside the Cooper diesel and petrol twins, the Clubman and the Cabriolet. The Mini Superleggera, currently under development, is expected to only be a spin-off of the new Cabriolet, therefore leaving an unidentified fifth model in the portfolio.
