Mini is set to launch the all-new Clubman in India on December 15, 2016. Set to become the largest Mini on sale in the country, the Clubman is larger than the Countryman currently on sale and is essentially a large estate model from the British automaker.

At Auto Expo 2016, the company confirmed that the car would be launched in India. The all-new Clubman is Mini’s fifth model in India and its second new model to make its way here this year, following the Mini Convertible.

The Clubman shares many styling cues with its siblings such as the large, single-frame grille, oval headlamps and clamshell bonnet. What is unique is the Clubman's tailgate; unlike a conventional hatchback or estate, it features barn-style doors.

Inside, the dashboard layout is similar to the one on the new Minis, with a large centrally mounted, round binnacle housing the infotainment system. Like with other Minis, expect the Clubman to come with a long list of customisation options as well.

Internationally, the Clubman is available with the choice of a 1.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines paired to a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes. For India we can expect the same engines to be offered. The manual gearbox option, however, is likely to be given a miss, while the automatic gearbox will be offered as standard, as seen across the line-up.
