The Mercedes EQE SUV is based on the brand’s EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform and, globally, also has a sedan sibling – the EQE. The EQE 500 SUV gets a dual-motor set-up with standard all-wheel drive, drawing juice from a 90.6kWh battery that supports up to 170kW of DC fast charging speeds. It's the top-spec model in non-AMG trim, produces 408hp and 858Nm, and has a range of up to 521km on the WLTP cycle.

In contrast, the recently launched Q8 e-tron 55 churns out 340hp and 664Nm of torque, and also has a bigger 95kWh battery. The BMW iX, meanwhile, comes with a 76.6kWh battery and churns out 326hp and 630Nm of torque. Lastly, the Jaguar I-Pace produces 400hp and 696Nm of torque, and has a 90kWh battery pack.

The India-spec EQS 500 will come fully-loaded with features like an off-road package and hyperscreen as standard fitment as the brand intends to cash is on the Indian buyer's tendency to only opt for the top-spec variants.
