The electric C-Class uses a 94kWh (usable) battery pack and supports an 800V electrical system. Mercedes claims a WLTP range of up to 762km. The C 400 4MATIC produces 489hp and can accelerate from 0-100kph in a claimed 4.0 seconds. DC fast-charging of up to 330kW is supported, which can add up to 325km of range in 10 minutes under WLTP conditions.

The model also features a two-speed transmission on the rear axle, aimed at balancing acceleration and efficiency. The electric C-Class is available with rear-axle steering, which reduces the turning circle to 11.2 metres, and air-suspension with adaptive damping. It has a boot capacity of 470 litres along with an additional 101-litre frunk. The car has a towing capacity of up to 1.8 tonnes.

The electric C-Class follows the GLC EV’s design approach, which is expected to carry over to the ICE C-Class. The EQE and EQS saloons, in contrast, use a cab-forward, one-bow design.

It adopts a coupe-like silhouette, with a sloping roofline and a fastback-style rear. At the front, the fascia closely resembles the GLC EV, with a large illuminated grille panel featuring the central Mercedes star, along with LED headlamps that integrate multiple lighting functions. The DRLs feature star-shaped elements, in line with the lighting signature seen on newer Mercedes models such as the S-Class, CLA , EQS and GLC EV

At the rear, the design continues this theme with round, star-pattern tail-lamps, similar in style to the GLC EV. The sloping rear and clean surfacing are aimed at improving airflow, with the model achieving a drag coefficient starting at 0.22.

Inside, the electric C-Class gets a new cabin layout with a large 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that spans the entire width of the car and is made up of 1000 individual LEDs and offers the ability to individually dim certain areas using a slider. The infotainment system runs on Mercedes’ MB.OS and supports over-the-air updates. It also includes an AI-based virtual assistant and navigation that factors in charging requirements.

The model gets features such as a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control and electrically adjustable seats with memory, massage and ventilation functions. Seating space benefits from a 97mm longer wheelbase compared to the combustion C-Class. Mercedes has also equipped the car with multiple driver-assistance systems supported by cameras and sensors.
