Maruti launches Ertiga MPV

The Ertiga has been launched at a killer starting price of Rs 5.89 lakh for the petrol. The introductory price of the base-diesel is Rs 7.30 lakh.

Maruti has launched its much-awaited Ertiga MPV. 

The all-new Ertiga, which is based on the current Swift platform, is Maruti’s first crack at the MPV segment Maruti has made all efforts to make its new mini-MPV as car-like as possible and in fact the dashboard and steering wheel have been carried over from the Swift. Lighter materials do their part in giving the interiors a more premium look.

The Ertiga comes in six variants, three each with petrol and diesel motors and seven paint-shades such as Ecru Beige, Firebrick Red, Granite Grey, Dusky Brown, Superior White and Silky Silver.

In the engine department, the Ertiga gets a new 1.4-litre petrol motor that is equipped with variable-valve timing (VVT) and delivers a decent 95bhp. The Ertiga also comes with the popular 1.3-litre Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) diesel from the SX4.
