MapmyIndia launches DriveMate car tracking device

MapmyIndia has launched DriveMate, a plug-and-play car tracking device. The device is offered in two variants – a base model and a Max variant, priced at Rs 9,990 and Rs 14,990 respectively.

The deviceconnects to the car via the vehicles OBD-II port which is usually found beneath the steering wheel. It has built-in GPS and Internet connectivity, which works in conjunction with MapmyIndia’s maps and monitorsthe car’s location and transmits it to the owner’s smartphone via a Drivemate app available across Android, iOS, Windows and web platforms.It can also be integrated with a range of third party apps.

The system records driver behaviour such as harsh braking, acceleration, over-speeding and vehicle misuse,and alerts the owner via the app. Additionally, it provides information about the car’s insurance expiry and service schedules. Owners can use this device to monitor multiple cars on their mobile phone.

The Max variant of DriveMate also offers owners connectivity with their car dealer or service centre, which allows for easy road-side assistance and car servicing.

Users can also store electronic documents like Driving License, Registration Certificate, Insurance Policy and Pollution Certificate, etc in the device.
