Mahindra & Mahindra’s pre-launch challenges continue in the US market.According to Autocar India’s sister magazine Autocar Professional,M&M’s dealers in the US have formed ‘The Mahindra Dealer Action Committee’ to collectively address the problems arising out of M&M’s delay in setting up operations there and the ongoing litigation between M&M and its distributor Global Vehicles.

The Committee has written an ‘open letter’ (a copy of which is with Autocar Professional) to Anand Mahindra asking him ‘to put the legal struggle with Global Vehicles and the dealers behind’ and ‘to immediately plan a successful product launch in the United States’.

The dealer body has invited Mahindra, or Dr Pawan Goenka as his representative, to a meeting arranged in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting is scheduled to take place later today. In its letter, the dealer body also assures M&M of its ‘strong commitment’ to ‘invest the necessary to insure Mahindra’s success’ in the US, ‘if it can get Mahindra’s commitment’.

When contacted, an M&M spokesperson said the company will not attend the meeting as the matter (litigation with Global Vehicles) ‘is in arbitration’.
