Hyundai dealers have opened bookings for the upcoming Creta small SUV. The booking amount for the upcoming SUV is between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 depending on the region. The Creta, previously known internationally as the iX25, is Hyundai’s entry into the small SUV market.

On the outside, the Creta gets black body cladding with faux scuff plates, a triple-slat hexagonal grille which will receive chrome treatment, angular headlamps with LED elements with projector elements, robust-looking front and rear bumpers, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels depending on variant, neatly styled tail-lamps with LED and around 200mm of ground clearance.

The interior of the Creta is expected to be on the lines of the current i20 and Verna with a colour- coordinated dual tone dashboard with silver inserts and similar control surfaces. The top trims are expected to receive a touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the Creta is expected to get Hyundai’s 1.6-litre diesel engine developing 126bhp and 26.5kgm of torque mated to a six-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. The SUV is expected to come with a 1.6-litre petrol motor at a later stage.

The Creta will rival the upcoming S-Cross and Renault Duster when launched in the market. More details will be given out closer to the launch.
