Lamborghini is working on the Superleggera version of the Huracán. With the Superleggera badge, the Huracán will be lighter and have more power at its disposal.

A possible prototype of the Huracán Superleggera was seen testing recently. At the back, new vents have been cut out and with the exhausts appearing to be peeping out from a mesh grille; the same set-up as on Lamborghini’s Huracán GT3 racer.  The car also seems to have been equipped with bigger brakes than the original Huracán.

With the Superleggera treatment, the Lamborghini Huracán will go through weight reduction, it seems evident because of the stickers which imply that Lamborghini is working with carbon-fibre specialist Becker Carbon and will use materials like carbon fiber and aluminum; to improve aerodynamics the car will gain an aggressive body kit; the mid-mounted 5.2-litre V10 engine which develops 602bhp, will get more power and the chassis will be stiffened up.

The Huracán’s rival, the Audi R8 V10 Plus will offer increasingly advanced competition. The engine in the R8 which is a 5.2-litre V10, produces the same output as the Huracán, but has a higher top speed of 330kph.

Last year, Lamborghini bosses revealed that more variants of its Gallardo replacement were in the pipeline. Among the planned models is a Huracán Spyder, which is expected later this year, and a new rear-wheel-drive version.
