Update: 2017 Honda Mobilio revealed

Honda's answer to the Maruti Ertiga, the Mobilio has been on sale since 2014. The carmaker recently updated the Amaze and the Brio, and it is now all set to give its Mobilio MPV a mid-cycle refresh. A first set of teaser images have surfaced in Indonesia where the updated MPV is likely to be unveiled soon.

While there were no sheet-metal modifications seen on the refreshed Brio and Amaze, the Mobilio will see major styling changes to its front. The first set of teaser images show the headlights are a lot smaller than the balloon-shaped ones on the current model. The grille is wider and has got a chrome strip running across, like on the City. The front bumper is also all new and features angular front air intakes and prominent cuts for fog-lamp inserts. The headlamps too are new and feature LED daytime-running lamps along the lower edge. The Indonesian-spec car is likely to continue with the same petrol motor.

For international markets, Honda did launch a mildly updated Mobilio sometime ago which featured the updated interior with a new dashboard, just like in the Amaze and Brio. It is yet to be seen whether the refreshed Mobilio gets more updates on the inside. For India, however, Honda hasn't given the Mobilio any update since its launch.

The company's BR-V SUV, launched in India on May 5, 2016, features body panels and underpinnings similar to the Mobilio's, but with an SUV-like front styling and other rugged bits.
There is no news of the updated Mobilio making it to India as of now. However, the restyled model will surely give a shot in the arm to the almost negligible Mobilio sales in our market. Honda sold 3,396 units of the Mobilio in the year ending November 2016, down from 16,380 units sold in the previous year. It is currently offering discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh on the unsold 2015 and 2016 Mobilios in order to push sales.

For India, Honda is currently preparing to bring in two new models. The first is set to be the facelift of the popular Honda City, which will be followed by the WR-V crosshatch.
