Honda has revealed the facelifted version of the India-bound Accord. The facelift includes cosmetic changes, updates to the interiors and other added features, to make it more in line with that of the US model.

The most noticeable changes to the exterior are the new front grille with a thick band of chrome, while top-end variants get new LED headlamps with DRLs. The rear gets the addition of LED tail-lamps. Other tweaks include redesigned bumpers that now feature LED fog lamps. All-in-all, the facelifted Accord looks more aggressive that its pre-facelifted edition.

In the cabin, the dashboard layout remains unchanged but gets new wood and piano black trim inserts.

The tech list on the facelifted Accord now includes engine remote start, which allows the driver to remotely start the vehicle, and a 7.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity.

Mechanically, the Accord facelift continues to be powered by a choice of 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol engines making 153bhp and 172bhp respectively, paired to a torque-converter automatic gearbox.

However, the styling updates seen on the facelifted Accord will not be carried over to the Accord Hybrid which will receive a facelift later this year.

For India, Honda is set to bring the new facelifted Accord with a choice of petrol or petrol-electric hybrid powertrains. Honda showcased the new Accord in India at the Auto Expo 2016 in its pre-facelifted avatar alongside the company’s upcoming entry into the SUV/crossover segment, the BR-V.
