Mercedes will launch the GLA 45 AMG on October 27. Coming from the performance wing of the German marquee, the GLA 45 AMG is the GLA crossover on performance enhancers.

Visually, the GLA 45 AMG gets the quintessential AMG makeover. A redesigned grille, more aggressive bumpers, rear diffuser, quad exhausts, 19-inch alloys and bright red brake calipers make up for the visual enhancements.

On the Inside, not much changes over the standard GLA. The front seats are sportier and more supportive, there’s a new flat-bottomed steering and a conventional gear lever, as opposed to a steering-mounted stalk in the GLA. Other changes include sporty, red seatbelts and contrast stitching on the dashboard.

Power to the GLA 45 AMG comes from the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that does duty in the CLA 45 AMG. It makes a mammoth 355bhp and 45.8kgm of torque. Unlike the GLA which is available only in front-wheel drive, the AMG-prepped GLA 45 is an all-wheel drive. Transmission duties are handled by a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Upon launch, the GLA 45 AMG is expected to be priced at around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
