Ford India's Maraimalainagar Nagar engine facility has rolled out its 100,000th engine. This milestone has been achieved just 14 months after the engine plant started operations in January 2010.

The plant that has the capacity to produce 250,000 engine per year, is also the first Ford facility to feature a flexible production line for the manufacture of petrol and diesel engines. Today, the plant produces five Duratec petrol engine variants and one Duratorq diesel engine variant for Ford’s global vehicles. In fact, one -third of the engines produced so far have been exported to South Africa and Thailand.
