Ford has announced that it will be launching the new Figo on September 23. The new Figo hatchback will be manufactured alongside the Figo Aspire at the company's Sanand plant in Gujarat.
Based on the same platform as the Figo Aspire, the new Figo will sport a styling and silhouette similar to its compact sedan sibling up to the rear wheels, from where the boot of sedan makes way for a hatch flanked by wrap-around tail-lamps. Inside, the new Figo will get the same dashboard as the Aspire, although here Ford might give the dual-tone treatment a miss. Features are also expected to remain identical between the two models.
Mechanically, the new Ford Figo hatchback gets the choice of a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.
