Exclusive!
Benoit Tiers, the managing director of Audi India will be leaving the country and moving to France in June as head of Audi France. Tiers who was appointed MD of Audi India in June 2007 was responsible for building the Audi brand in the country and steered the Indian subsidiary to a respectable position.
Audi exceeded its sales target by selling over 1500 cars last year. In what is considered to be a huge promotion, Tiers now takes charge of Audi France, which is a 50,000 cars per annum market.
Whilst there is no official word on Tiers successor, it is likely to be Michael Perschke, who though presently with Audi has worked for Volkswagen and Mercedes in the past. In fact, Perschke is no stranger to India and was the general manager sales for Mercedes-Benz India from 1995-1997. Perschke’s appointment as the next MD of Audi India is expected to be confirmed in the next few days.
