Eicher Polaris, a joint venture between Eicher and Polaris has launched the Multix four-wheel utility vehicle with prices starting at Rs 2.32 lakh and going up to Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Jaipur). The Multix is available in two variants and with four shades of paint and is aimed at independent businessmen.

The Multix is capable of seating five people along with luggage or be adapted to provide luggage space of 1,918 litres. The utility vehicle is powered by a 511cc diesel engine developed by Greaves Cotton and is expected to return 28.45kpl. The Multix also comes equipped with a 3KW power-take-off port called X-Port which can be used to power lights, pumps, etc.

The Multix comes with an all-independent Pro-Ride suspension and offers 335mm of ground clearance. The body is built on a tubular frame structure and is equipped with a rollover protection system.

Speaking at the vehicle’s launch, Siddhartha Lal, managing director and CEO of Eicher Motors, said, “We have identified a large, untapped segment in independent businessmen with an estimated population of 5.8 crore in India, and are committed to create a new and strongly differentiated automotive solution for them through Multix.”

The vehicle will be available for test rides in July with deliveries to start sometime in August.
