Ford Ecosport recalled in India

Ford India is recalling 20,752 Ecosports to rectify a problem leading to fuel and vapour line corrosion in the long run.

Ford India is conducting a voluntary recall of 20,752 Ecosports. The cars are being called back to address an issue related to a fuel and vapour line corrosion, which tends to nag in the long run. The units that have been affected have been manufactured at the company’s Chennai plant between January 2013 and September 2014.

Alongside this procedure, Ford will also check the vehicles for reorienting the wiring harness related to the correct deployment of side airbags. Ford has already started contacting customers concerned and asking them to get their vehicles to the authorised service centres. All the necessary work will be carried out by the company free of cost.

“We have initiated a Field Service Action to correct product concerns on 20,752 Ford EcoSport vehicles in India. This is a proactive, voluntary recall action to ensure customers’ safety and satisfaction.” read an official statement from Ford.
