Mercedes-Benz has launched the stunning E-class coupe in India. While it may not have the mass appeal of the saloon version, the sleek-looking two-door E is very attractive.

The car’s low-slung stance and sweeping roofline created a real buzz at the Auto Expo in Delhi and the aggressive shape lends itself really well to the E-class coupe. The version that Merc has launched first in India is powered by the same 3.5-litre V6 petrol as the saloon version. This is a bit of a disappointment if you are looking for a big performance increase in the car; but this car isn’t only about performance.

This coupe has a different chassis set-ups which will influence the suspension. As a result the ride comfort will be different depending on the mode in which the car is driven; however, for the most part the suspension is very well-damped.

The coupe gets a short wheelbase and steeply sloping roofline. The rear legroom is adequate, and the rear seats fold to form a shallow, but large and a square boot. Its large and wide-opening doors make access to the rear relatively easy.

The Mercedes E-class Coupe is priced at Rs 54.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
