The entry-level hatchback from Datsun, the Go has been given a 2-star rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test . Equipped with only a driver-side airbag, the Go scored 6.82 points for its Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and got a 2-star rating for Child Occupant Protection (COP) with 46 percent compliance. In 2014, the hatchback had failed to comply with Global NCAP crash safety standards for Adult Occupant Protection, and was also was one of the cars banned for sale by the Gauhati High Court earlier this year.

In June 2015, Datsun included the option of a driver-side airbag for India. It is also understood that the car's body shell has been reinforced. The tests were targeted at  Indonesian consumers in conjunction with the ASEAN Automobile Safety Forum 2015/003 jointly organised by ASEAN NCAP with Institut Teknologi Bandung in Bandung, Indonesia.

The Daihatsu Ayla, Toyota Agya and the Toyota Hilux pickup were also tested in this latest round by ASEAN NCAP.
