Chevrolet has started testing the upcoming Spin MPV in India. Displayed at Auto Expo 2016, the Spin features the carmaker's trademark design elements, including the prominent two-piece grille seen on nearly all Chevrolet models in India. The MPV's styling, however, is more contemporary than that of the Enjoy MPV.
The Spin – unlike the Enjoy which is based on an older-generation Wuling CN platform – is underpinned by the GM Gamma II platform that is also used on the Chevrolet Beat for India and on various other models sold in other markets.
In international markets, the Spin MPV is available with a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine. However, the Spin for India is expected to get the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine.
The MPV will be launched later this year and will compete with the likes of the Renault Lodgy, Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio and also Chevrolet's own Enjoy MPV.
