BMW will launch the second-generation X6 SUV in India on July 23, 2015.  The new coupe-like X6 will join the India line-up of BMW SUVs that include the BMW X1, the X3 and the BMW X5.

The new BMW X6 made its public debut at the Moscow Motor Show last year. The new SUV has been comprehensively re-engineered and produced in a joint development programme with the third-gen X5 at BMW’s factory in South Carolina. BMW will sell the new X6 in India as a directly imported CBU.

The X6’s styling continues where the previous model left off and retains the earlier car’s similar silhouette, but with a bolder front and rear look. Measuring 4,909mm in length, 1,989mm in width and 1,702mm in height, the new BMW X6 is 34mm longer, 4mm wider and 12mm higher than the outgoing car. The wheelbase has been reduced by 2mm, to 1,933mm. The latest X6 receives a restyled dashboard, more heavily contoured seats and luxurious trims – much of which are shared with BMW's X5.

The previous-gen BMW X6 was available with a petrol and a diesel motor, however it remains to be seen what engines the India-bound X6 gets. The first-gen BMW X6 did not have a direct competitor in India and in most of the international markets, but that's not the case with the new X6 as BMW's arch-rival Mercedes has unveiled the GLE Coupe which will come to Indian showrooms soon.
