We've got our hands on the spy pics of the all-new BMW 3-series saloon caught testing near Pune. The spy pic has been sent by our reader Prem.

The 2012 version (Codename: F30) is the sixth-generation of BMW 3-series. It competes with the likes of the Mercedes C-Class, the Audi A4 and Volvo S60.  The F30 3-series gets major improvements in styling and mechanical departments and has a better ride-quality and interior space than the car it replaces.

The current 3-series is locally assembled via the CKD process at BMW’s Chennai plant and the F30 version which will replace the current E90 will follow suit. However, this spy picture was taken near ARAI which shows that the car could be in for homologation purpose at the ARAI facility.

BMW is expected to launch the 3-series in India this June in petrol and diesel variants with a first on a  3-series will be the same ZF eight-speed gearbox with paddle-shifters which debuted in India on the larger 5-series saloon.

We earlier had a chance to drive the new 3-series in Spain, click on the link below to read our first impressions.
