Fiat has rolled out its third new product for 2014, a part of the four new model launches proposed for this year. The Avventura, a crossover based on the Punto hatchback was launched in Delhi at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh for the petrol and Rs 6.89 lakh for the diesel variant.

Fiat has already received 500 bookings for the Aventura. It comes with two engine options - a 1.4-litre FIRE petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. Nagesh Basavanhalli, president and managing director, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India Operations told our sister publication Autocar Professional on the sidelines of the launch, that the company expects a couple of weeks' waiting period for the Avventura and deliveries will start immediately. “We expect increased traffic during the festive season,” he added.

The new Fiat Avventura will take on the well established Ford Ecosport and the Renault Duster.

The Abarth 500 is Fiat's fourth model slated for 2014, which is expected to go on sale before the year is out.
