Lamborghini has announced that it will unveil the roadster variant of its stripped-down limited- edition Aventador SV coupé at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2015. The Italian automaker originally confirmed the existence of the car in June, following the debut of the Aventador SV coupé at Geneva.

The Aventador SV roadster will be powered the same 740bhp 6.5-litre V12 seen in the SV coupé. Power will be sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shifters. In terms of performance, the roadster could achieve the 0-100kph sprint time of 2.8 seconds as the coupé, although it is expected to be weigh more. Top speed, however, may vary, with the roadster’s lack of a roof likely to make it slower.

The roadster will feature the same stripped-down interior as the coupé with the interior, featuring extensive use of carbon-fibre, leather and Alcantara. The digital instrument cluster will also be carried over.

The roadster will command a more premium price tag as compared to the coupé with Lamborghini having already confirmed that production of the Aventador SV roadster will stay limited to 500 units.
