While the Apterra A/T is meant for all-terrain driving, the Apterra H/T is for highway driving.
Apollo Tyres has launched its new Apterra H/P on-road high-performance summer tyre for SUVs at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The new tyre, which is available in H and V speed indexes and being introduced globally, has been developed by the company’s Global PV R&D Centre in Enschede, the Netherlands.
Starting April, Apollo’s entire tyre range for the SUV and 4x4 segments will be marketed under the Apterra name. While the Apterra A/T is meant for all-terrain driving, the Apterra H/T is for highway driving.
According to Apollo, the Apterra range has a tread consisting of a multi-polymer compound for total safety, even at higher speeds, in line with the demands of high-performance vehicle drivers. The large shoulder blocks, combined with the continuous centre rib, ensure a high degree of stability on the road, while the central rib also guarantees accurate handling.
Also, advanced sipe technology enables effective water dispersion and ensures excellent resistance to aquaplaning. The strong carcass of Apterra H/P gives it an extra load capacity, making it ideal for heavier SUVs like the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 and X5.
Apollo has also stated that it plans to launch various new tyres this year, thanks to the synergies and expertise of 150 car tyre specialists at its Global PV R&D team.
