The Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular SUVs offered in India ever since its launch in 2015. The popular SUV recently received a facelift, thus hiking its appeal even further. Hyundai has received over 70,000 enquires for the Creta facelift since its launch. Such is the popularity and demand for the new Creta that the Korean brand has received 14,366 bookings within 10 days of it being launched. The 2018 Hyundai Creta has been priced between Rs 9.44-15.04 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV is now available with three engine options, two transmission options and five trims.
As part of its new facelift, the Hyundai Creta gets a more pronounced hexagonal grille, a larger and redesigned front bumper, separate housings for the front fog lamps, a new black chin and a slightly tweaked rear bumper. Hyundai is offering the Creta facelift in seven single-colour options and two dual-tone shades (white with black and orange with black).
Talking about interiors, there isn’t a drastic difference between the Creta facelift and its predecessor. However, Hyundai has made sure that there’s more equipment in every variant, and (more importantly) safety features like dual-front airbags and ABS are now standard, even in the base E-trim. The top-spec Hyundai Creta has been loaded with goodies like projector headlamps, cruise control, an AVN infotainment system with an IPS display, a six-way adjustable powered driver’s seat, a smart key band, wireless charging support, six airbags and more.
The powertrain has been left untouched. The Hyundai Creta facelift is now available with three engine options – 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel motor; 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol engine; and 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel motor. The 1.4-litre diesel motor is available only with manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre engines get the option of a six-speed automatic torque-converter. Curiously, Hyundai hasn’t offered automatic transmission for the top-spec SX (O) trim, which means buyers of any of the automatic variants will have to miss out on a sunroof and wireless charging. Regarding competition, the 2018 Hyundai Creta goes up against rivals like the Renault Captur, the Maruti S-cross and the Honda BR-V.
