Chevrolet will unveil the facelifted Captiva SUV, featuring upgraded styling, at the Paris motor show this month. Changes have been made to both the interior and exterior finish.

The most noticeable changes to the front of the car are a sharply sculptured bonnet and a much larger grille thanks to a reduction in the size of the front bumper. The side air vents now take on a more angular shape and the rear light cluster has been made narrower.

The interior has been upgraded and now features new seat fabrics and interior decor to give the car a more upmarket feel and look. Other Chevrolet features have been incorporated too, including ice-blue backlighting and the wrap-around design of the front fascia, which flows into the front driver's and passenger doors to create a dual-cockpit look. Chevrolet claims to have improved the car’s acoustic engineering to reduce road, wind and engine noise.

At present, the Captiva is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel motor and so far there has been no news on the engine changes for the Indian market. However, in the Europe, the new Captiva will be offered with the three new engines options – a 169bhp 2.4-litre petrol unit and two 2.2-litre, common-rail turbodiesel units with either 161 or 181bhp power outputs.

The facelifted Captiva's chassis has been retuned to enhance cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel. Standard kit includes electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist and hill start assist to prevent roll-back on hill starts. The interior has aux-in, a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity as standard, and a touch-screen navigation system with rear-view camera for parking assistance is an optional extra.

The facelift Captiva is expected to hit the Indian shores only around Diwali 2011.
