A video of the upcoming Tata Aeris has been leaked on social media just ahead of its launch on September 25, 2026. The footage clearly shows a showroom-ready 'iCNG' variant of the Aeris being driven off a trailer. The Tigor successor will also be available in petrol and EV guises. Official teasers of the Aeris have been released by Tata Motors, while design patents of the new sub-4-meter sedan have also surfaced.

Tata Aeris design details leaked
The Aeris carries design cues from the Tiago and Tigor
As backed by this leaked footage and earlier teasers, the front of the Tata Aeris features a black bar across the grille and sweptback headlamps – same as those seen on the Tiago. The difference up front comes from a new bumper with pronounced C-shaped corners and a redesigned air intake in the middle. We can also see the Aeris sporting the ORVM (outside rearview mirror) design of the Tiago and the notchback roofline from the Tigor.
The Tata Aeris CNG variant shown in the leaked video has a two-tone wheel design, ‘Aeris’ lettering on the front doors and pull-type door handles. The rear has a similar tail-lamp design with the ‘Tata’ logo in the middle, as seen on the Tiago. Some of the bits have been carried over from the Tigor include the sharkfin antenna, roof spoiler with an integrated stop light, and the sculpted bootlid. This being the CNG variant, there's an ‘iCNG’ tag on the bootlid, while further down is an all-new bumper with C-shaped corners and integrated static reflectors.

Two-tone interior and dual digital displays from the Tiago
The Tata Aeris iCNG will be available with a two-tone interior theme and free-standing displays on the dashboard. The variant captured here features powered ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, manual AC, dual phone-storage trays, front cupholders, front and rear armrests, and a manually-dimming IRVM (inner rearview mirror).
Apart from individual headrests and three-pointed seatbelts for all occupants, the Tata Aeris should also get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFX anchors across variants.
Tata Aeris engine and gearbox options
The powertrain options are likely to be carried over from the Tigor
The Tata Aeris is likely to get the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that powers the Tigor. In the petrol version, this three-cylinder unit puts out 86hp and 113Nm, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox.
The Aeris iCNG should also have the same engine and gearbox options made available to the Tigor iCNG, with the output likely to be comparable too. The latter offers 76hp and 97Nm of torque. While prices for the Aeris will be announced soon, the Tigor is priced from Rs 5.70 lakh to Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
