Mercedes GLS AMG Line: exterior, interior updates

On the outside, the GLS AMG Line comes with a sportier-looking bumper with larger air intakes; the wheel arch cladding is painted in body colour, as are the side sill panels (on the regular GLS, this is finished in black). The rear bumper also gets a sportier look with a diffuser-like insert finished in black, along with a thin chrome strip.

Inside, the most notable highlight is a new AMG-spec steering wheel with the twin-spoke design. The pedals also get a new stainless steel finish, and there are new floor mats with AMG lettering.

Customers can now also spec the GLS in Mercedes’ Night Package, which brings a blacked-out treatment for the wing mirror caps, window line trim, roof rails and the 21-inch alloy wheels. The four slats on the grille also get a dark chrome finish, and inside, the dashboard comes draped in black leather upholstery.

Under the hood, the GLS AMG Line retains the 3.0-litre inline-6 petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine produces 381hp and 500Nm, while the diesel engine produces 367hp and 750Nm; both engines come mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, sending drive to all four wheels.
