A first set of images of the facelifted version of the long-wheelbase E-class have surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of what could be expected on the India-bound car. For those not in the know, India and China are among the very few global markets that get the long-wheelbase version of the E-class sedan.

The refreshed E-class LWB seen in China gets styling tweaks similar to the standard model that see revised headlamp and bumper design upfront and a slightly wider three-slat chrome grille; the bumper sees quite a few chrome bits as well. For India, the car will most likely continue with the sportier iteration of the grille, with a large three-pointed star bang in the centre, just like the pre-facelift version.  It also gets new alloy wheel designs and a reworked rear, with much slimmer wraparound tail-lamps, a new boot lid and rear bumper. While interior images are not yet available, we expect the refreshed E-class LWB’s updates to be in line with the standard-wheelbase model seen earlier. This includes two 10.25-inch screens for the MBUX infotainment and instrumentation, with 12.3-inch screens being optional. A new steering wheel, which features capacitive touch controls, is offered in three designs and is set to be introduced across the range.

For India, the E-class received BS6-compliant diesel and petrol engines last year – the 194hp 2.0-litre diesel and the 197hp 2.0-litre petrol. Expect more details on the updated E-class sedan for India to surface in the coming months.
