The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe facelift has launched in India at a price of Rs 76.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the first AMG model to be assembled locally at Mercedes’ Chakan plant. This marks Mercedes-Benz India's 10th launch this year.

  • Locally assembled, updated GLC 43 Coupe priced at Rs 76.70 lakh
  • 390hp, 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 helps complete the 0-100kph sprint in a claimed 4.9s
  • Power is up by 23hp from the pre-facelift GLC 43 Coupe, while torque remains the same

The locally assembled GLC 43 Coupe costs Rs 14 lakh more than the standard GLC 300 Coupe and Rs 13 lakh more than the GLC 300d Coupe.

Local assembly has helped to keep prices in check by a significant degree. For reference, the pre-facelift GLC 43 Coupe launched in 2017 was priced at Rs 74.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe exterior

The updated GLC 43 Coupe looks a lot like the standard GLC Coupé facelift. It does, however, benefit from a number of AMG-specific changes – like the Panamericana grille, tweaked front bumper, side skirts, quad-exhausts, a rear diffuser element, and 20-inch alloy wheels – that help tell the GLC 43 Coupé apart from the standard GLC.

Although largely similar to the standard model, the cabin of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupé gets a few sporty upgrades that underline the car’s AMG credentials. Red highlights, sports seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and aluminium paddle shifters accentuate the sporty allure of the cockpit.

A dual-screen setup, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system, along with a Burmester audio system, are standard fit, with three AMG-specific display styles on offer – Classic, Sport, and Supersport.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe engine and suspension

The business end of the updated GLC 43 Coupé houses a 3.0-litre, turbo-petrol V6 engine producing 390hp and 520Nm of peak torque. Power is up by 23hp from the pre-facelift GLC, which produced 367hp and 520Nm of peak torque with the same engine configuration.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system with a rear-biased setup — 69 percent of the GLC 43’s total output is sent to the rear.

Also on offer are five drive-modes that can be used to adjust the car’s engine, transmission, steering, and suspension, along with adaptive damping for the latter.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe rivals

The GLC 43 Coupe’s closest rival in the Indian market, the 354hp Porsche Macan S, costs Rs 83.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). At this price point, the locally assembled Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe undercuts the Macan S by a significant Rs 7.25 lakh margin.
