Honda India is going to debut the production-spec 0 Alpha EV on December 2. The 0 Alpha SUV concept was revealed in October 2025, and its production version will be the carmaker's first all-electric vehicle for our market. The final name of the upcoming SUV is going to be revealed in November, as per our sources. A heavily camouflaged prototype of Honda 0 Alpha SUV was recently spied testing on our roads.
Honda 0 Alpha SUV details so far
Technical details are limited for now, but Honda has confirmed that the SUV will get two battery pack options. Both will use LFP chemistry, with capacities likely ranging from 65kWh to 75kWh. At launch, the Honda 0 Alpha SUV is expected to get a single-motor, front-wheel-drive layout.
Going by recent spy shots, the production-spec SUV could retain the radical shape of the 0 Alpha concept. Its design is unlike that of current Honda models, with a near-vertical rear end and thick C-pillar that give it an almost MPV-like appearance. It has a large windscreen at the rear, while the lower section has a protruding bumper, which is expected to feature a diffuser-like trim.
When Honda unveiled the 0 Alpha concept last year, it said the design was already close to production. The front nose section is expected to house an illuminated Honda logo and the charging port, with the headlights framing it from the sides.
An earlier sighting of a camouflaged test vehicle also gave us a look at the interior. The main highlight is a large touchscreen, with a relatively smaller digital driver’s display to its right. The cabin also gets a three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. The centre console has several physical buttons, seemingly control for functions such as climate control and ventilated seats. The Honda 0 Alpha SUV could have a wheelbase of around 2,700-2,800mm, with a focus on maximising interior space. Its upright tailgate also hints at good luggage space.
The upcoming SUV will be manufactured in India, with Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan expected to serve as its production base. Upon launch, it will rival midsize electric SUVs such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra EV, Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Ebella.
